What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. On your next visit the browser hands it back, which is how a site can remember a setting such as the language you picked. Similar techniques, like local storage, do the same job and are covered here too.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work at all, including remembering your cookie choice and the language you selected. These are set without consent because the site cannot function without them.
- Statistics. Aggregated measurement of which pages are read and how people arrive, so we can tell which parts of the site are useful. Set only with your consent.
- Marketing. Used to measure whether an advertisement led to a visit, and to avoid showing the same advertisement repeatedly. Set only with your consent.
The language setting
Choosing German or French stores your choice under the key funzone-lang, so the site opens in that language next time. It holds nothing but the two-letter language code, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Third parties
Where statistics or marketing consent is given, measurement tags may be loaded that set cookies of their own. Those providers process the data as described in their own policies.
No cookie on this site collects your name, your address or your payment details, because this site never asks for them.
Changing your choice
Reopen the consent banner from the link in the footer and adjust the categories. The change applies straight away.
You can also delete or block cookies in the browser itself, under settings, privacy. Blocking the strictly necessary category will stop the language switch and the consent banner from remembering anything.
How long they last
Consent and language preferences are kept for up to twelve months, after which you are asked again. Statistics and marketing cookies follow the retention set by the provider, typically between a few days and two years. The exact list is shown in the consent banner.
